All I can be sure of is it doesn't have mozzarella in it. The top is sprinkled with parmesan then broiled. Yum!

This is like crack cocaine to my wife. She inhales it by the bowl full with...

...warm pita triangles at our favorite local greek/mediterranean restaurant.

Very creamy, with, as you said, a covering of bubbly, browned parmesan.

It IS good stuff.

I don't know the restaurant but here is a recipe I've used for many years

HOT ARTICHOKE AND SPINACH SPREAD

1 large can artichoke hearts (in water not oil), drained and chopped
1 small can chopped green chilies, drained
1/2 box frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup mayonnaise (I use homemade)
1 handful Parmesan cheese
2 tbs. sliced green onions
2 tbs. seeded, chopped tomato

Heat oven to 350 F. Mix all ingredients except onions and tomatoes until well blended. Spoon into shallow ovenproof dish or 9-inch pie plate. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with onions and tomatoes.

I looked it up on BJ's Brewhouse menu, is that the right restaurant? They say it is based on

cream cheese. I've got a couple of cream cheese based versions in my collection but they both call for small amounts of mozzarella. I've only made the mayo kind similar to what Cathy posted.

I have a recipe for an artichoke and spinach side dish based on cream cheese that is really good, I'll post if you're interested.

Costco has a pretty good one--not as good as homemade, but makes a really quick appetizer when

used as a topping for tortilla chips and baked like nachos. really easy and different.

This sounds closest to what I'm looking for... is there a link to see the recipe or do I need to

write it down as I watch the video?

Here is one that sounds pretty close. No mozzarella in it.

Spinach Artichoke Dip

Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped
spinach, partially thawed
1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts,
drained and chopped

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese,
softened
2 (16 ounce) containers sour cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
garlic salt to taste

Directions:
1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the spinach and artichoke hearts. Cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
2. Mix cream cheese and sour cream into the spinach mixture. Stir in Parmesan cheese and garlic salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 10 to 15 minutes. Serve warm.
