There was a company - called Wise Acre - that made frozen tea pops. They were awesome, but have since went out of business

So - now I want to try and make my own - but how. I think I remember reading somewhere that when making granita (which I guess would be the closest thing to it) you have to make it extra strong because freezing mutes the flavor. Has anyone else found this to be true?

I'd like to make them like the pops - in the long plastic tubes, but can't find them. I remember seeing in a blog from another country that it was a particular treat to make frozen pops - the bag was long and thin and they simply closed with a twistie tie. Of course I can't find that site again smileys/frown.gif

So - anyone with tea recipes, hints, tips? And anyone with an idea where I can find the plastic tube baggies? I have those rubbermaid pop makers with the stick - but I like the tubes better.

Trying to beat the heat....

Thanks,

Tess

Here's a tea pop that is also fruity:

2 tablespoons loose tea
2 cups boiling water
3 tablespoons sugar (optional)
1 cup grapefruit juice
1 cup cranberry juice.

Pour water over tea & steep to desired strength. Strain and stir in sugar until dissolved. Refrigerate until chilled. Stir in juices & pour in molds and freeze.

Thanks for the recipe and site...from the site I was able to track down a seller in Texas, a bag of

100 costs about $3.50 but the shipping is $11 dollars. I never knew they were called ice candy.

Anyway, in the blog you posted they mentioned using a food vacuum sealer to make the baggies -- I have one of those -- so - it's time to put it to another use!!

Thanks again.
