school. Their schedules are different, so I have 1:1 time with each that I treasure. DD is starting to join me asking for tea. DS will start asking for hot cocoa once it gets colder. I was thinking of purchasing a special mug / tea cup for each so we use the same each day, and have fun with our cups.

DD is easy. I know their are a few thrift shops that sell english china tea cups / saucers. I'm good with her.

My question is with DS. I was initially trying to find a masculine tea cup / saucer (I found a few on eBay), but now I am wondering if there is something different. I saw a "nobby milk glass" set, but it was for salt and pepper and butter dishes, not mugs.

Any thoughts? Ideas?

TIA,

Happy New Year!

Does he like sports? Maybe mugs of his fave teams, changing with the seasons?

Giants, then Yankees? Mets/Jets. Hockey?

Then I was thinking if your family has a few favorite vacation spots, mugs from those locations will spark "good memories" conversations. Or aspirational vacation spots. Hawaiian surfer dude mug would be cool. smileys/smile.gif

Sounds like a nice AM for you...

Does the cup need to have a saucer?

Why not a reasonably hefty mug and a small dish on which to place the used tea bag?

Have you looked in local artisan galleries to see if a potter in your area makes nice "manly" mugs?

Wouldn't it be a nice lesson in "keeping it local" to support handmade in America?

Breakfast tea

mM 3 grandchildren & I often have tea parties. I bought a vintage longaberger child's tea set on e-bay. It has a small (~ teapot 2 tea cups with saucers, & 2 plates. I found an extra cup & saucer & plate, too, to match). For older children, use a regular size tea set. It's fun & we have eaten breakfast, & lunch together, using them, & tea cookies in the afternoon. My 8 year old grandson thought it was fun and always joins his two sisters (age 10 & 6 ) for tea. I don't prepare anything special to serve, just usual breakfast food, but everything cut small so it fits on plates.
Not sure if this is what you were after but I had fun thinking about it!

OMG... How cool is that?! I have never seen this! I was leaning towards Irish coffee mug, but

this is really fun!

Mo - Not a sports guy; likes trendy gaming things, Roblox, minecraft, etc. But, I want to have
