Hi Lisa:
I just saw your note about helping with your son's scout page. Just to let you know 4 months ago I didn't know squat about how to write web pages (although in real life I do market research and my area of expertise is web assessments and web usability studies (assessing how user friendly/frustrating). I work with agencies that do all the design and graphics/texts).
Anyway - I sat down and read 'HTML 4 for Dummies' in a weekend and I was able to do simple edits by that Sunday. That being said you'll need to use a File Protocol System - many are free. I use SMART FTP (although I had to buy it after a certain amount of time). Also - I use Dreamweaver to make the edits (you can download free for 30 days) - it makes writing/editing a BREEZE. That one you eventually have to buy and it is expensive - but there may be similar free programs out there.
Feel free to PM me if you want to 'talk' about it.
The website I have redone (all text and links) is www.lessaccent.com. (My sister is a pronunciation specialist and her area of expertise is helping foreign nationals minimize communication barriers in the workplace).
Best,
Deb
