I don’t know how she does it but my sibling can destroying brand new kitchen towels within a week. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. On the other hand, I have kitchen towels that are years old. However, I guess this makes for a good ongoing Christmas gift.

Does anybody have a favorite kitchen towels?

The ones at Williams Sonoma are sturdy, last for years,

available in seasonal colors, and make great gifts (have been on the receiving end AND gifting end for years).

That is really interesting!! I have cheap towels and expensive towels and I

have had them for eons!! Can't help with a brand. ;o)

I received some of these from Pat and they ARE wonderful

Thick, long-lasting, the color does not fade. Really good towels. Thanks again, Pat!

I occasionally purchase the ones in Bed Bath and Beyond that come in packages of 4. They have lasted

for years. They are in the bins in the entrance. Of course I have not been in a while but they were reasonable and made a great gift.

mine seem to last for years and every once in a while I cull the big basket I keep them in.

When they get a little faded and thin they are relegated to the wringing out of shredded zucchini and the like. I too enjoy the ones from William's Sonoma but also like the ease of using those cutsey white ones that say Boston Pops or Nantucket Island etc. They are very thirsty and good for drying small things.

I am just tonight throwing into the rag bin, towels that I bought in July 1988. Is that

longevity? They are the waffle guys but their mates that are sturdy cotton are lasting even longer. The trick seems to be........don't wash them with your underwire bras.

Sorry I don't have any labels but the company probably would not be in business anyway. I believe they were the 'professional' sort. Bar maids and men swear by them. Or behind them.

Chica!!! So happy to see you. Saw you posting and then saw this oh, so appropriate quote:

"I'm from Canada, so Thanksgiving to me is just Thursday with more food. And I'm thankful for that."

~ Howie Mandel

I like La Patisserie for one main reason: they are 28" long and so when I fold

one over the stove handle, IT STAYS.

Other towels are 24" long and I swear I am constantly picked them up off the floor because they have to be perfectly centered to stay put.

I find these towels in Home Store.

I am fond of the cheapazoid, white-with-red-banded ones at IKEA. . .

When I bought my first batch, they were fifty cents each. Last ones I purchased were 75 cents each. I have a bazillion of them, as I don't need to match my "kitchen decor" (what kitchen decor? in my house), I need them to clean up stuff. I use them to wipe counters and walls, dry pots and pans, clean up messes, dry spills, use as large napkins, and as hot pads for hands and counters.

They are great, long lasting; the oldest are several years old, perhaps more than 5 years old. They ain't fancy, but they are cheap to use instead of paper towels. Most of all, they are absorbent. Some towels, fancier towels, do not absorb things very well, they just smear stuff around.

You might be able to order these online.
