Yesterday my son broke the carafe to our Krups "Moka Brew" (model F 468 B made in France)

Looking for an alternative steam pressure coffee maker to the Krups Moka Brew. The distinction here is "coffee" It uses a low pressure steam system unlike espresso which is typically high pressure and it makes 8 cups of coffee versus a shot or two.

The coffee was great but the machine was not very user friendly and probably why it got discontinued. So I'd be happy with an alternative that uses this same method. (Carafe is under pressure clamped in place with a seal so steam gets forced through the coffee)

Sorry, Paul, can't help you here. I have the same luck with coffee makers as I do with

vacuum cleaners. I have a crappy Mr. Coffee at the moment. It works, at least so far.

I have a family heirloom from Italy

actually two. My grandfather gave them to me when he closed his upholstery business and they were buried away in the shop basement for decades.

he said that they were from his parents family. Not sure exactly but they are at least 100 years old copper stove top style Italian coffee makers. I never thought to use them but now... They are not mocha pots either. I think likely the precursor to those and percolators. I'll have to take some pictures.
