I'm getting my first small fennel bulbs and the flavor compared to the supermaket stuff is amazing.

The link is to Braised Fennel with Garlic. Last night I had skinless boneless chicken breasts to use up, so after the fennel and garlic were finished I scraped out the pan but didn't rinse it. I added a little more oil and a little butter and sauteed the chicken just with salt and pepper. After removing the chicken I sauteed a little chopped thyme and deglazed the pan with wine and lemon juice. I think it's a keeper.

thnaks for the link & feedback. I have 4 very small

fennel, not many came up. I will wait a few weeks before plucking them. Next time we will start them in small pots then transplant. Maybe we will have more...
