1 serving or 2, however you do it. I'd like to make one for my DH and I may serve it next week when I'm having a couple friends over for lunch. It's either your blizzard or a Dreamsicle 'blizzard' I'm working on.

TIA

REC: Frozen drink: The Mo Monkey

You may like this one for using up bananas. smileys/smile.gif

Mo Monkey

1/2 oz Rum
1/2 oz Kahlua
1/2 oz Baileys
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup milk (2% is ok)
dash Chocolate syrup (I use the sugar free)
dash Banana Liquor
Ice
Dark Cocoa

Place the dark cocoa in bottom of glass (a chilled collins glass or stemmed goblet)

Put all other ingredients in a blender and blend at medium-high speed for 15 seconds. Pour into the glass and enjoy! Pretty potent.

I have also used light coconut milk for a twist

Hi Marsha, here are the approximate measurements:

For a Blizzard:

4 very large frozen bananas, cut into pieces
Approx 1 1/2 cups milk or more if needed (I use lowfat)
vanilla extract, about 1/4 tsp, or more to taste)
1-2 Tbsp pure maple syrup, or to taste

Makes about 1 quart.

For a Milkshake: (less thick than the blizzard):

2 large frozen bananas, cut into pieces
approx. 2 cups milk (I use lowfat)
vanilla extract to taste (about 1-2 tsp)
1 Tbsp pure maple syrup, or to taste
1-2 pinches cinnamon, optional

Makes about 2-3 servings

After pouring into glasses or goblets, I often top them off with a dusting of cinnamon.

Thank you, thank you dozens of times over and over! smileys/smile.gif Please share if you have other neat drinks

or desserts that are similar, if you will, as in low fat, low sugar.

You're very welcome! Do you drink coffee or espresso (decaf or regular)? I have a great recipe

called "ICED BANANA LATTE" made with strong coffee or espresso (I use decaf espresso), milk, frozen bananas, etc. This is not my own concoction, as are the ones I listed above, but it comes from Recipezaar. Let me know if you want me to post it.

I'm not sure what to say smileys/smile.gif I love coffee ice cream and that coffee drink I posted one time...but I

never drink a cup of coffee. I always take a sip of my husband's in the am and never more than that.

I do, though, enjoy iced coffee, so maybe I would like it....go ahead and share...my husband always buys that strong cuban coffee that's been mentioned here before, can't recall it's name right now.

TIA

Here ya go: Iced Banana Latte

ICED BANANA LATTE

Note: The first time I made this, I started with 2 small ice cubes, and stopped there, because they were watering down the taste. Next time I omitted them altogether.
I used strong brewed espresso (decaf), chilled, and added somewhat less than 1/2 cup of lowfat milk for a very, very deep coffee taste. I also added about a tsp of sugar.

From the poster "...If you prefer it sweeter, just add a bit of sugar or honey or other sweetener."

ICED BANANA LATTE

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup skim milk (or soy milk)
1/3 cup strong coffee or espresso, chilled or at room temperature (I use chilled decaf espresso)
1 banana, frozen and sliced
2-3 ice cubes (I omit them)
cocoa, for sprinkling
cinnamon, for sprinkling

DIRECTIONS:

Pour milk and coffee into blender. Combine. Add banana.
Blend until mixture is smooth.
With blender running, add ice cubes one at a time, blending until each is incorporated. Use enough ice cubes to obtain desired consistency.
Pour into a glass. Sprinkle with cocoa and cinnamon.
Serve immediately.

Makes 1 large serving or 2 smaller servings.
