ISO: ISO Meryl, tried the Orange Carrot bundt for the picnic. It was good, moist, but a bit bland,

The batter was delish, but after baking it really didn't have much orange flavor, even with the orange glaze. I might try it again but add a bit of orange extract to the cake and maybe a pinch of cardamom for some mystery warmth. Or maybe go in another direction and add mini choc chips and drizzle melted choc over the orange glaze. Anyway, thought I'd report in, overall impression; good texture, ok flavor, but just needs something for pizazz.

Hi Jada - too bad it was bland. Good idea about using orange extract next time. If I make this, I'll

add the extract plus extra zest. Cardamom sounds good too. Thanks for letting me know how it turned out.
(For those interested, I've posted the link to the Orange Carrot Bundt Cake below).

By the way, Jada, I have a great orange cake recipe in T&T, which is very orangey, using orange extract, 3 Tbsp zest, and 3/4 cup fresh orange juice. It's called Orange Butter Cake.

thanks, Meryl, orange butter cake looks good. Surely a choc glaze wouldn't be out of place? smileys/wink.gif
