Since I'm lactose intolerant, I loved that it didn't have any milky products, or any oil.

I was really surprised at how fudgy and moist it was, considering there was no milks, or solid chocolate - it musta been that hot-water-dissolved-cocoa mixture.

I think this'll be my new favorite, especially since it uses ingredients I always have in my pantry!! Thanks for posting it!

Glad you enjoyed it, Sandi. I still make it often, and it's a standard issue birthday cake for ..

...a good friend of ours here in Phoenix.

Can I make the frosting in a blender? I don't have a food processor.

This looks fabulous. I'm thinking of making it for my father's birthday. 'Cause, you know, if it isn't a chocolate cake, it's just a waste of ingredients. smileys/smile.gif

As long as the chocolate gets chopped up into a coarse sand consistency. Then,...

...don't over blend. Remove from the blender when it is fully mixed. That's the same with a food processor.

Don't be discouraged if it takes awhile to "set" once it's in the ice water bath. Once it does, it's terrific!
