question: I couldn't find red lentils so I used, green, I think, and it took considerably longer to cook. Am I correct that red cook fast?

The red lentils do cook quicker. I buy them from a middle-eastern neighborhood...

...grocery store. I get a big bag (2 - 3 lbs?) for around $3.99.

Glad everyone liked the recipe. I've tried a number of Kevin Lynch's recipes from his blog, "Closet Cooking", and I've rarely been disappointed.
