ISO: ISO Mimi: Question re: wear-ever super shooter and whipped shortbread

Hi Mimi:

I purchased the wear-ever super shooter off ebay and used the whipped shortbread recipe to test it out. I had a hard time getting the dough to stick onto the cookie sheet even after freezing the sheet and resorted to making ribbon cookies. I did not chill the dough. Did you ever have that problem? Any tips? It was my first time using electric vs ratchet so maybe I need to get some practice. Do you use it on high speed continuously? TIA.

Mine only has one speed. But I have found that the dough won't stick if I don't press out enough dough per cookie. I go by time, timing each press in my head, and I can just fill up the cookie sheet in a matter of seconds. Practice makes perfect to see how long you need to press your cookie. Also, make sure that it's straight up and down and not angled a bit, when you're pressing. Let me know how it goes.
