Pumpkin Spice Bread

From: Pine Barn Inn, Danville, Pennsylvania

Makes 3 large loaves

7 cups flour

5 cups sugar

4 teaspoons baking soda

4 teaspoons cinnamon

2 teaspoons nutmeg

2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

4 eggs, well beaten

1-1/3 cups water

4 cups cooked pumpkin puree or two 16-ounce cans pumpkin

2 cups (4 sticks) margarine, melted

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F. Grease three 9 x 5-inch loaf pans; set aside.

In large mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cloves. In large bowl, mix eggs with water until well blended. Add pumpkin, blend thoroughly. Blend in melted margarine. Make a well in center of dry ingredients and add pumpkin mixture. Mix thoroughly until smooth. Spoon into greased loaf pans and bake until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean, about 35 to 45 minutes. Remove loaves from pans and cool on rack.

I hope this is close to the recipe you have lost????

You are so sweet! Now I have two recipes to try.

I haven't made pumpkin bread in years though I crave it - all because I couldn't find this recipe. This looks similar from what I can remember.
