Well, I am having a ton of trouble to post. SOmetimes I need to be SallyBR, sometimes SallyBR1, sometimes the forum refuses to accept either.

Must be the gremlins.

Pat, I was trying to find precise info on the life shelf of dende oil because of the post I did on my blog, but it is not easy at all.

I asked my family and friends back home to try and help me, and apparently it SHOULD be good for 1 year after opening even if you do not refrigerate it. Honestly, I don't believe it, I think that with refrigeration maybe, but at room temperature? I don't think so.

it can form crystals and a precipitate, which is ok, but once it goes rancid.... it's pretty much over....

Since I cannot find it in this neck of the woods, I simply omit it, much to the despair of Brazilians everywhere smileys/smile.gif

Hi Sally. Thanks for the info on dende oil. The bottle I had

was given to me and had no expiration date posted on the bottle so it's likely it wasn't the freshest when I received it. Will have to seek out more when I get around to trying Brazilian dishes again.
