I actually got the recipe a long time ago from a logger when I still worked in camps. It was his Mom's, I loved it, but didn't make often enough to remember the details--
It started with cooking cornmeal to make a mush, I remember it seems to have a lot of sugar, but was only slightly sweet. I think it had four eggs, for about 5-6 cups of flour.
It is a kneaded dough, very soft and really nice. Rolled out and cut with a biscuit cutter.
I may try to fake it, but it was so perfect made exactly like recipe.
