ISO: ISO recipe for Date Squares

Does anyone have a recipe for date squares? I'm looking for one from my childhood that I used to make with my mother. I did a search and ONE recipe came up and it's not quite what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a recipe that has an oat mixture bottom, date mixture in the middle, and oat mixture on top.

The recipe Mom and I used comes from the Purity Flour Cookbook (a Canadian cookbook). I could call my dad for the recipe, but it would just make him cry to go through Mom's cookbooks, so I'd prefer not to put him through that. The actual recipe title was Matrimonial Cake. (Get the joke?)
