ISO: Iso recipe link

Can't believe I'm doing this, LOL. Mimi eliminated that link after I and others complained,

the poster was just trying to drive traffic to his site.

BUT, he's posted on other sites too that don't moderate as well as Mimi, so I found the link. Here ya go.

Uh oh, looks like I started something below. Link erased. Carol, if you still need it, PM me.

Sorry, everyone, I was trying to help Carol out. I underestimated the author's tenacity!

Poor Mimi's sick and doesn't need to deal with it right now but I think (FWIW)

after reading his post at #9334 he seems to understand the rules of the site now. He apparently is from China, which is way cool, and we could really benefit from his experiences. He also said he is using some sort of translation thingie and I know how frustrating that can be! He only posted an image of the dish in the post, not the link. I'm a picture kinda gal so that seems OK with me. I think we should give him a chance and see how he joins us in conversation. I think "we" and "he" could gain. We'll have to wait and see what Mimi says.

Yes, we could all benefit from the exchange, providing the author still participates

after the first 50 posts (36 to go) and doesn't only post links to his site.

I love new members, really, as long as they're not using this board to advertise.

I was impressed with the website and saved it in forum, looking forward to more of his posts, I'm

sure he'll soon understand the policies about self advertising, you are real sweet Orchid reaching out to help him

I am of the general mind that anyone who has their own website...

...should, by virtue of that fact, be savvy enough to understand proper netiquette when it comes to ads.

I know it is easier and easier to get a website these days, but, in general, I'm not so sure about the "oh, I didn't know it was wrong" defense. Seems a bit convenient to me.

This current poster seems contrite, and this is a welcoming group of foodies, so if Mimi is ok, I'm ok.

Michael

Yes, the difference for me was his apology to Mimi and then telling

more about himself. I'm impressed that he is having to use translating software on everything. Can you imagine the time that takes. He seems to want to connect.

Hmmmmmm...I just looked at the site. I never go to any site that

has been posted by someone that only has a few posts. So I hadn't seen it. I noticed that everything is in US measures. Interesting.

I saw the posts that were deleted for blatant promotion of their website. in those orginal

posts, there certainly wasn't any language problem or comprehension problems. that's why I posted above.

not to mention that others have said there posts from them in lots of other cooking sites. we'll see what tomorrow brings won't we.
