ISO: ISO: Recipes using banana leaves...also, does anyone know who the current White House chef is?

I bought frozen banana leaves ages ago and can't find the recipe I bought them for! Does anyone know of any? I think the one I had was for grilled fish, but any use will do.

I came across an old cookbook by Henry Haller called "The Whitehouse Family Cookbook".

He was the executive chef for the Johnson thru Reagan administrations and it piqued my curiosity as to who has been there since.

Just Googled and found out who the chef is. The first woman ever appointed.

Her name is Cristeta Comerford and Laura Bush appointed her. She was a 10-year veteran of the White House kitchen.

Yes, she replaced Walter Scheib who had been there for 11 years. There was sort of a

big deal made out of it last winter when Mrs. Bush "replaced" him.

you can wrap almost anything in a banana leaf and steam or grill.
