ISO recommendations for (a) biking trails (b) wineries © fly-fishing streams (d) food! would be appreciated. i think so far we only know about the catherine valley bike trail & some beer microbrewery.... we've got info from the finger lakes tourism group, but it's been hard to wade through. we don't want to bicycle in traffic, and would like to avoid crowds if possible. THANKS!!

They'll be there Thursday thru early Sunday, heading back up to MA.

(Thanks from me too!)

Oh! She's gotta go to Dinosaur BBQ (Syracuse, about 16 miles east of the Finger Lakes) if

she can. Also Destiny USA (mall) for shopping.

In the Finger Lakes, there are a ton of wineries along Keuka Lake. It's a nice area, and although I've been there, I didn't go on the tours. Bully Hill and Belhurst Castle are popular and very good wineries. Also Eleven Lakes winery, right in Seneca Falls. Ang was just there I think - maybe she would have some advice. ;o)

This time of the year, it's the height of the fruit/vegetable season, so she should find some good things along the road/farmers' markets too!

That's where I saw the president last week (Waterloo). 'Hope she has a great time!! It's a beautiful area. Not sure about the bike trails though.

I was just there in June. really beautiful area. lots of wineries and cheese shops. country roads

can be tricky for the bikers, but lots of them tour the area. I have no help with the trails, but we stayed at Barrister's Bed and Breakfast and it was fabulous and they have lots of info on the area. there is a nice walking tour of the town too. lots of wonderful classic houses and buildings. wherever they stay, they should ask for the winery/cheese coupons that can save lots of money on the tastings. I could put them in touch with my DH's cousin who lives there.
