A? about Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Cake

Can I use part Semi Sweet Chocolate for the Bittersweet? I bought the Bitter Sweet & can't put my hands on them. Also I can't locate my Baking Soda. Can I just eliminate it? It only calls for 1 teaspoon

I don't think I am loosing my mind. I have just been recuperating from 2 major surgeries since October and had live in companions here for months on end. Sooooo I can't find lots of things. TIA

unfortunately, you'll need the soda since you're baking a chocolate cake layer. Have a box in the fridge? It works in a pinch.

I would say you're ok on the chocolate, however.

Re: Richard

Thanks for the response. I will look in the fridge, perhaps that is where one of the companions did put it.I bet I know what happened. I had to leave for the hospital in Philly with about 1 hours notice. I left & a friend had a key to come for my mail weekly. She didn't think about it, nor did I, but the fridge was full of food. I was in the hospital for about 2+ months....

I bet I don't have to tell you what it smelled like in my kitchen. It was discovered by the man who cleans my apartment when I asked him to come in & clean my place before I came home. He is the one who probably did that. I had totally forgotten about that incident.

I'm glad to know I am OK about the chocoalte. Should I mix them, or since I have 6 oz. of the Bittersweet is it best used in 1 part of the recipe as opposed to anywhere?
