I have tried 6 grocery stores trying to find "point cut" packages of corned beef. All I can find is "flat cut". I really prefer point cut because the higher fat content yields a more tender and flavorful result, in my opinion.

I've tried several publix stores, Winn Dixie, Albertsons, Whole Foods.

Tomorrow I will let me fingers do the walking and call Penn Dutch, Smittys Butcher and Fresh Market.

If any of you see Point Cuts by tomorrow pm, please post.

Thanks for your help and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm in Broward Hallie. You might try this...

Doris's Italian Market. Here's a link to their site with contact info. They have a great meat market with butchers so it is worth a call or if one is near you, a visit. If you click on the "weekly ad" and scroll down to the bottom you will see the stores they have. I go to the Sunrise store. I'll cross my fingers for you.

Tks for the suggestion, but no luck. Seems "point" cut is out of fashion and has gone the way of

rotary dial phones and hoop skirts! This is the first year I've had a problem finding them. Next year I know to order in advance!

Thanks for your help though.

Aww, sorry. I was hopeful you might score. Maybe work on a friendship

with one of the butchers there? Hallie, I thought you were on the Fl. west coast. Where are you?

That's some kind of a commute. Sunrise, right by Sawgrass Mall.

You, Woody and me (or is it I? LOL) need to organize a lunch meet up at the Mall sometime. Bet you go there sometimes.

Can you buy the whole brisket? We have whole briskets in almost every store here

Then if I am correct on this, you will have a point cut and a flat cut. There are suggestions for cooking each all over the web. The point cut has the most fat, called the deckel, that can be trimmed off so that your cooking liquid is not so greasy.

About 20 min. on US1, not that bad really. And yes, we should plan a get together. Meryl is in

this neck of the woods too, I believe.
