I still have to fill them with chocolate, but the wafers are made. I had a tough time getting them to stay in relatively round shapes. They reallllly spread all over the place. Do you chill the batter a bit? I found if I chilled the batter a bit it helped(tried this for the last pan, of course) I used parchment paper. Could this be a problem? I took a knife and tried to coax them into roundness while still very hot and pliable. Have you ever filled them with Nutella?http://www.finerkitchens.com/swap/forum/index.php?action=display&forumid=1&msgid=2106

Hi Ang - I don't chill the batter at all, and they're supposed to spread out...

I do use a tiny ice cream scoop to portion out the batter. A level scoop measures one teaspoon, so I level it off, then drop the batter onto the sheet. It's definitely more like a runny batter than a dough.

It's okay if they're not perfectly round - as long as you're doing them at your leisure, part of the fun is finding matching shapes and sizes to sandwich together! (It's not as much fun if you're in a rush!)

I use silpats because I have them - I've never tried parchment paper, although I would think that would work just fine.

And no on the Nutella, only because it has some milk product in it, but it sounds FAB! Hope your friends enjoy them as much as I do!
