ISO: ISO Steve2 - a question about your Chocolate Mousse Pie

In Search Of:
This is a keeper - so easy and delicious!

Made it with my DS for Father's Day - we did make it "wrong" with the extra cup of cream in the ganache step, to no ill effect.

It would be super-rich without the extra - very decadent!

Thanks for sharing this one, it will be a regular at our house.

Served with fresh raspberries - perfect flavor combination.

I've used the cream alone as the base for a tart and covered the top in fresh raspberries with a

raspberry jelly glaze. Oh. Muh. Gah!

Just checking here as I haven't bought Oreos. Do I put the whole cookie, including filling

into the crust? I know it seems like a dumb question but it looks as though there is a lot of butter in it as well.

I wonder if it might be fun with a chocolate mint crust. ??

Looking for easy desserts for the summer and for my hips.

If you don't want to do the Oreo crust, I'd just go with Chocolate Wafers, although the shortening

from the Oreo filling must be a contributor to the overall well-being of the crust so, no telling what you'll end up with.

the Famous Chocolate Wafers would be a good choice. the butter "should" bind it together smileys/smile.gif

I was thinking I might as I'm not fond of all that sugar (says she who just bought a box

of sugar-filled cookies junk)but I'm now wondering about incorporating some peppermint patties with the crust. No sugar in them is there?

My MIL always made the cake roll - so easy and delicious. You are right about the location -

here they are in the ice cream accoutrements section, as opposed to the cookie aisle of the store.

If you want a vanilla crust, animal crackers/cookies make a super crispy delicious crust!

With butter as binder, of course

I found some Swedish choco-mint wafer cookies, just like the ones that

we use for crusts. Couldn't find the regular ones, and no peppermint patties that were less than $10 for the amount I'd need. Lots of Oreos. I had no idea that Oreos came in so many formats.

So I'm going to try this. Should be interesting. I'm hoping for a little refreshing.

I think this will be on for Poker Night.
