ISO: ISO T & T red wine, white carpet relief

My neighbors brought a bottle of red for noodles last eve and it was spilled on my white carpet. Does anyone have a good remedy?

Try soda water first. Then OxyClean.

I agree re: the soda water. I also use Spot Shot...

If the OxyClean doesn't do it, try Spot Shot. I've gotten red wine out of our light-colored berber with it, and the guys who installed our carpet in the basement recommended it for stain removal, too.

Haven' I've always heard that to remove a red wine stain you use white wine

Spot Shot RUINED our carpet- it is not white but you should be careful with this stuff

Our carpeting is mossy green. I used Spot Shot on stains and it seemed to work like magic but a month later the carpet was bleached out and discolored permanently in those places I used it.

Pour lots of salt over a red wine stain right away...

the salt will absorb the wine, then let it dry and vacuum it all up.

yikes! yes, be careful with whatever you use...

I guess it pays to do a small test patch first in an inconspicuous place and make sure you neutralize whatever it is. the bleaching effect happened to us with our last carpet - an off white - when I used oxyclean!

I managed to get most of the stains out with OxyClean as Durward mentioned. my only beef (teehee) is that I have one whiter than white spot. I must have left some cleaner- will scrub more.
