the Farmer's Market - it smells so nice and smokey and has a nice heat.

Any idea what it's traditionally used for? I'm going to make a white bean soup again (think I posted that one) and use this instead of the mexican chili powder.

My sister and I looked it up on the web and found that Aleppo is on the Syrian border - interesting...

this should help some.

aleppo or halaby pepper would, i think, be too hot for a direct substitution for chili powder and doesn't have the herbs either. it'd be good to hot up the dish a bit.
