here you go carroll - it doesn't sound complicated at all. REC homemade graham crackers...

this is from 'the good cook - cookies and crackers'. i haven't tried this recipe, let me know if you make them how they turn out smileys/smile.gif

"graham flour is another name for whole-wheat flour. the name comes from sylvester graham, an early 19th century american dietician, who pioneered the use of flour made from whole grain. to sour 1 cup of heavy cream, add 1 tbsp of vinegar or lemon juice and let the mixture stand for 5 minutes.

1 cup sour heavy cream
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
about 4 cups graham flour

mix the cream, sugar, butter, soda and salt thoroughly. add enough graham flour to produce a stiff dough. on a lightly floured board, roll the dough 1/4inch (6mm) thick and cut it into 2 inch (5cm) squares, ovals or circles. place on buttered baking sheets and bake in a preheated 450f (230c) oven for 10-12 minutes, or until crisp and brown. makes about 40.

Do you have a slow cooker? apples peeled and chunked and cooked for long and slow

make a nice applesauce. Do not add sugar until the end, tasting and adding as needed. Adding a bit of cinnamon is nice too. But if you're using this for baking, I would leave the apples plain. Make this on stovetop too. Just fill your favorite big pot with chunked up apples(some people leave the peels on)add a little water(maybe 1/2 cup) so they don't stick on the bottom, and cook on low heat for an hour or 2 and mash---some like chunky and some like smooth and add sugar as needed. It's really quite easy and doesn't take as much time as say apple butter. Making small batches in the microwave works well too, but not sure if you have this available.
