I've been wasting alot of the apple because I don't have a corer. I find apple corer's with dividers, and then there's the basic corer.

What do you recommend?

Thanks!

My apple corer never worked well for me. I use a small melon baller- saw one of the chefs using it

a long, long time ago on Food Network, and I've used it ever since. It works great - just cut the apple in half and go.

I don't bother with a corer. Quarter the apple, cut each quarter in half, then lay the

wedge sideways on the cutting board and carve out the core with a quick curving slash of the paring knife. Fast and easy.

If I use a corer, I prefer the one that just takes the core out without slicing it.

But I find the corer very awkward, and usually do as Sandi's link demonstrates, or use a melon baller as Meryl mentioned.

One strange thing I've noticed, is the slices done by knife seem to brown less quickly than when I use the corer.
