It's a new week.

Hi all, haven't been on much lately, but I need to get back to cooking. I missed you all!

So, here's what last week looked like:

1. Andy knocked the butter dish off the counter onto Liam's Lionel train set, breaking my favorite cobalt glass vase in the process. Butter and glass everywhere on the train set.

2. About twenty minutes later, Andy opened the fridge. A glass container of maple syrup was on top of the fridge and it fell off, almost conking him in the head. Maple syrup all over the floor.

3. The next day, I go to a yard sale and buy a beautiful antique china bowl. I put the bag with the bowl on the counter, and it falls off, chipping the bowl.

4. That evening, Andy is making Liam some noodles. He drops the pan with the noodles on the floor.

My cousin says that our gravity machine is set too high and that we need to adjust it.

I'm hoping that this week will have fewer breakages and kitchen disasters.

Gravity is a contributing factor in nearly 73 percent of all accidents involving falling objects.

Gravity is a habit that is hard to shake off. Time to lay low and maybe just stay in bed for awhile. smileys/smile.gif

Maybe it's something in the air! My husband knocked over our drip coffeemaker, this morning...

Went across our entire kitchen counter, drenching my wallet and my stack of library books. smileys/frown.gif On the bright side, I'd packed all my cookbooks yesterday, so no damage there--and the library declined to charge me any fees! (But I told J. that we would be making a donation in the equivalent amount...)

Here's to a better week!

Disasters come in threes. I hope the noodles were just a bonus 4th and not an onus for two more

I totally sympathize. I can take car accidents and natural disasters in stride but my favorite things falling and breaking make me want to cry. It's so personal.

I hear ya----I killed my cell phone last week. left it out in the rain all night. dumb dumb dumb

I can receive calls, but no screen, and the repair says no way to fix. I cried. and I don't even use it that much, obviously since I didn't miss it till the next day, but the cost kills me to think about. kills me.
