It's September 1, I'm ready to post my first dish that I did for the

orchid

Well-known member
Cook The Book project but I'm waiting for someone..(Traca?) to post the first one so I can see how this works.

Cookbook project...will someone summarize the rules?

I'm ashamed to say I didn't read all the back/forth on it. Do we cook whatever we want* and then discuss here with links to recipes we put in the book section Paul made for us -and shouldn't the Gourmet cookbook link be within/a subset of the Cook the Book link/section?

*or do we start by sections/create menus/etc

No different than you post on recipes here. Name of the recipe, then you findings.

"I liked it/I didn't like it/ Next time I'd try...."It's really pretty simple. We've been doing it all along, now it's just one particular source (the cookbook!)

It is set up exactly like this site, however since there are no messages yet

the first poster clicks on "new post" to bring the forum up.

I would recommend "The Gourmet Cookbook" because "cook the book" can be for

any book we want to play with. That way, tested recipes will stay with the originating recipe book.

What if we did the thread in the tried and true section of the swap rather than

the normal swap. Or rather set up a thread/section for cook the book. We have different categories there already, or maybe Paul could set one up for us there? That way they would all be contained in one place.

Just sent you PM...

I like how it looks now, but if we do lots of projects (here's hoping) the main pg could get quite long. If we modeled the set-up after Great Threads (All Forums > Cook the Book > Gourmet Cookbook, then we could just add a new post under Cook the Book for every new cookbook project that comes along and would keep to the current format and main page less cluttered.

Does that make sense?

I had to rebuild it (twice) and rebuild your messages

so the timestamps are off but it should be fine now

I ordered a copy of the book through the library. It hasn't come in yet. Will be playing soon!
