I've been frantically going through back issues of all my cooking magazines trying to purge...

I quickly peruse the index in each one, rip out any recipes that catch my eye, and move on.

Last night I picked up the December 2009 issue of Bon Appetit and went to work. The Mushroom-Farro Risotto sounded just divine! So today I looked it up at Epicurious to see if there were any reviews. Sadly, the recipe didn't make it to their website.

But a quick google search led me to a food blog, and the most delicious pictures ever of the recipe. THIS one is on this weeks menu!

Mmmm, you're right, it *does* look and sound delish. A lil Epi search I discovered by accident one

day last year when I too was wanting to reduce my bajillion Bon Appetit and Gourmet magazines and was tiring of going through the issues....I had a thought to enter an Epi search with the month and year and Bon Appetit (or Gourmet) i.e. "January 2010 Bon Appetit" and up came all the recipes from that particular issue which are presently on the site. Then I could select "rating" to see the highest rated recipes from that issue. Just *loved* that and consequently was able to save a number of those recipes that appealed and then recycled the magazine.

Thanks for the mushroom farro risotto recipe, it really looks good.

And here I thought I had come up with something creative the other day.

I am in LOVE with farro - I love the toothiness of it. I wondered if I could cook it risotto style and I had that new Le Creuset risotto pan so I just had to try it.

What I did is close but I really followed a risotta procedure a little more than them.
