I've been making my own greek yogurt. I get about 10 six ounce jars from one seven ounce jar

of bought Greek yougurt. I dredged up my old Salton yougurt maker from the '70s. Directions: Warm milk slightly in microwave. Add rounded teaspoon of greek yogurt (Fago 2% altho I'm sure you can use the fat free) Stir thoroughly. Keep warm in yougurt maker or otherwise for 6 to 8 hours till set up. Chill for however long is convenient. Then strain it through a thin round coffee filter in a wire strainer for about 6 to 7 hours to the texture you like. I've measured about 5 to 6 ounces of water drippings from the 2 seven ounce cups of yougurt. store in a container in refrig. I like mine less tangy than the original so this is perfect timing for me but I think if you let it incubate longer than 8 hours it will be tangier. I's just like the original but a second generation yielded disastrous results.
