I've never really been a fan of yogurt, but I recently heard about...

something called "Greek yogurt" and just happened to run across it the other day in an international grocery store.

Anyone ever try it, and how is it different from regular yogurt?

Get it, you'll love it! smileys/smile.gif

It's a lot thicker & richer than the usual variety you'll find in the stores. Almost along the lines of a full-fat sour cream. It makes wonderful tzatziki!

It's fabulous...(m)

I get it at Trader Joe's (I think the brand is called Total). You can get large containers, or individual servings with a little thing of honey attached, so you can mix them together. The tang and the sweet are so good. Try it!

I've also tried it a couple of times...

and it's great for raita or tzatziki. The same company also makes sheep's milk yogurt that I have yet to try.
Anyone had that one?

I ususally buy the Greek Yogurt called Fage at Trader Joe's (m)

It comes in regular and zero fat. It is much thicker and I think much better tasting than the regular grocery store brands. If you can, try it. I believe you will really like it. I understand that some grocery stores are carrying it now also, in case you do not have a TJ'S near you.

This is the brand I've bought....

at my local supermarket. I have also seen it at TJ's, and meant to compare prices, but spaced on that!

Greek yogurt is the only kind I can eat. I use when I make tzatziki.

There is one store where I live that sells it from a big 5 gallon tub instead of the prepackaged containers. That way I can get as much or as little as I need. It is very VERY thick and creamy. Much more like sour cream than yogurt. I have never tried it sweetened or with fruit, I figure just eating it with one thing is pretty good since I have never been able to eat it any other way.
