TOO BIG. I have a 12qt stock pot from oneida (bought it 8 yrs ago) So I thought why not get a bigger one ~ in the store last night it looked bigger than my old one ~ got it home and it's the mother of all stock pots.

I have no clue what to make in it. The sale was great ~ $29.00 with $20 rebate ~ also bought a 16qt stock pot for my son and his future wife.

What to make in a 20qt stock pot???? I won't cook live crab or lobster ~ just can't bring myself to EVER do that.

Any suggestions ~ BTW my 12qt stock pot cook lots of Meat Sauce and now it's just the 2 of us so I could make lots more but I would end up freezing tons.

I'm not bring it back ~ the price was / is too good to do that.

I know it wasn't intended for brining a turkey, but since I don't have a lg clear acrylic container

like those used by Alton on FoodTV and America's Test Kitchen, I would see if it fit in my refrigerator or you'd have to keep checking the ice in brine.

btw, does anyone know where I could find an acrylic container that would hold a 15+ lb turkey?

Ann, the one they use on America's Test Kitchen is Cambro, they come in both

round and square. I found one in a restaurant supply store. I was surprised to find a restaurant supply store close to me and it has all sorts of goodies, very reasonably priced. My Cambro container is round, 18 qt and I think it cost around $20.

I think they're also available also available on line. I found a link and included it.

Of course, after buying it, I've never brined a turkey. The only thing big I've brined is brisket for corned beef and it doesn't fit in the Cambro very well.

I'm glad I checked back. I just have to have it, even w/ shipping & handling. Thanks Curious1! NT
