Thank you! We got the winnings and they're in our account waiting for us to get the property back...
The construction crews are almost finished in the area, and we are waiting on the city to draft a new lease on the property. We're starting from scratch so the Parks Dept. has to draft a lease and the City Council has to vote on it before we can get started. You wouldn't believe the red tape involved! I'm hoping sometime this month.
That's our big flagship garden. Meanwhile we have several smaller gardens in the works. We have 8 gardens now in the city of Long Beach and others in the pipeline. I spent all weekend writing a grant proposal for a tiny spot in the heart of downtown. It will be a little gem of a community garden if we can get some funding.
