Betty, I am very happy with the cake

and it is certainly company worthy.

The source for the recipe said that it was her mother's recipe and her mother called it "company cake" because it was so quick to put together and so good!

 
Thank You. I've made Nigella Lawson's guiness cake

a few times; as well as a 1234 cake with strawberries. Always looking for a lovely cake to serve dinner guests.

Do you frost it?

It sounds awfully rich and I was thinking of a dusting of powdered sugar or nothing even.

 
I will finally get a chance to make it tomorrow. I am going to

put on a scoop of whipped cream with fresh raspberries and a sprig of mint.
