First, I loved, loved, loved this program. What a fun contest. I would love to participate in it! However, I did have a few issues. First off: Why have the weekly master baker award if it means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING? No immunity the next week. No consideration for a stumble the next week. It meant absolutely nothing. So why do it and set up the expectations that it does have meaning?
That said, how could the person who won the master baker for 5 of the 10 weeks not win? They even said on the last challenge, nothing else that went before mattered.
I thought Richard should have won. He shined every week, was the master baker for half of the series, had a slip in the technical with his over baked custard, but compared to the sloppy slap and patch job on the pastry of Luis (I mean really!), and the unevenness of Nancy's. I thought they all failed at Tarte au citron.
Also, the deliberation should have been well thought out, discussed, and presented as to WHY they selected who they did, why the previous weeks apparently didn't matter, and what the criteria were. Fail on the judges part there (or maybe they did and the editors cut it?).
A really great program that had some serious let down for me, but overall, I would love to see this continue and be improved upon in the format of the judging criteria.
