I left MO on Wed. at 8am and arrived in CA Thurs. at 8pm, pretty much a driving maniac. Friday, I had to get the neccessities done (spa pedicure at my fav nail place, see my son, shop for salsa making,etc.). Saturday, I cooked for 12 hours, with a sushi break with friends. Sunday, I did my Farmer's Market. Oh, what a breath of fresh air and an egofest. I loved loved loved it. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed working like that. KC City Market, here I come.
So far, I have had carne asada tacos, grilled swordfish tacos at Baja Betty's (fun place in the Hillcrest area of San Diego. The kind of place where your waiters can be seen slugging back shots of Jaigermeister (I probably spelled that wrong, but that's what shots of this stuff can do to you! Oh and keep you up really late. Oh and make you really talkative.) and Red Bull.
Totally fun.
Tomorrow, I see my girlfriend, and have begged here to please serve me a bowl of Meatball Minestrone for dinner instead of going out. She loves that recipe!
The rest of my week will be hectic too, but a good kind of crazy.
I am going to try and drive back leisurely, but my computer programmer husband (you know the kind, point a to b as efficiently as possible) has programmed me well.
It's funny, when I first planned this trip, I was so excited. Then when the time to depart came closer, I started getting really nervous and doubting myself. I finally headed out, and within two hours of leaving, I broke down and started crying. I was missing my family and scared.
Two hours later, I was looking for Louise or Thelma, not sure, I can never remember which one is which.
Anyway, this girl is back in the saddle.
Woo hoo!
Night night all, time to lay down and paperclip my eyes shut. Damn you Red Bull.
I miss keeping up with everything. I have never had my page all "unread" before. I will have some catching up to do when I get back. Night night.
