Hi everyone. smileys/smile.gif Thought I'd peek in the kitchen and see what you all were up to. I haven't really cooked anything the last month or so; am very out of practice.

Chemo is going ok; not too much nausea (although last week was not fun). Appetite is all over the place; I've lost 15 pounds since I started treatment so that's a bonus at least. smileys/smile.gif

We have house guests this weekend, so I'm trying to figure out what to feed everyone tomorrow night. I'm thinking of BBQ pulled pork sandwiches--have never done that but I think that using the crockpot and not the oven would be A Good Thing, considering the temperatures. Anyway, it's nice to be planning a menu again.

Glad you popped in! Please keep us updated. Have a good Fourth--that BBQ pork sounds delish. smileys/smile.gif

Hey Amanda, welcome back. Jokes aside, have U considered trying marijuana as an appetite stimulant?

While I'm no doctor and am no longer a "supplicant" to the mighty weed, I've recommended it to a few friends, also fighting the chemo and it's done wonders.

According to my sister who was getting chemo for Hodgkins, it does work!

She couldn't stand weed before her illness and can't stand it now but it helped during the chemo.

I am so impressed by your strength Amanda. I know you are going through alot and am impressed that

you have the strength to be so outwardly focused on entertaining. KUDOS!

I saw your post re: menus section, and completely agree.... BUT, if there is ever a menu / question or shortcut you need... you know we are here for you!

I am sure it will be fun to be back in the kitchen again today!

Big hugs,

Barb

Hang in there, Amanda! I hope the guests are a welcome distracton at this point

and not an added stress. Pulled pork sounds like a perfect solution since it is do-ahead and everyone can chip in to get it on the table.

You have a wonderful attitude, even without Steve's attitude adjustment.

I was just wondering how you were doing a couple of days ago,

and here you are. I'm glad that you are tolerating the chemo. Sorry you had a tough week last week. I'll be thinking of you. Have fun with your company.

all kidding aside...I've heard it works wonders. Somehow not surprised Steve mentioned it smileys/smile.gif
