Abolutely AWESOME!! and I am not a big waffle eater!!! This is the one that rotates 180 degrees while cooking and I mean its perfect every time and you can make the next one immediately- At any rate, anyone have great waffle recipes/expereinces?? i heard that for conventional waffles, Krusteaz mix with additions of malt owder and club soda are great- haven't tried yet.. I'm thinking, cornmeal waffles toppped with chili and cheese, gingerbread waffles with lemon sauce or spiced apples, creamed chipped beef on waffles....

Help all you foodies- anything you can imagine I can now DO!!!

Question, "honey do we really need an $80 waffle iron??"- Yes Honey we REALLY DO!!!!!

Love my Waring Pro Waffle Iron too....

I believe I have the exact same iron for the past year or so, and it's worked out great for me. However, I haven't really been too creative with it! I make Michael's Dad's Buttermilk Waffles all the time and make a fruit berry sauce to go with it. They are always a hit!

I also have this waffle maker and IMHO it is the best ! I have (m)

used Michael's recipe quite often, it is soooo good. I read somthing the other day about using Jiffy Corn Bread mix and instead of baking it, use it in the waffle maker. Have not tried this yet. Has anyone figured out how to keep waffles hot, while eating them??? They always seem to cool off so quickly.

Rec: Chocolate Waffle Cookies

Chocolate Turtle Waffle Cookies

Source: Linda Ohrt

1½ cup sugar
1 cup butter (2 sticks), room temp
4 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cup flour
½ cup cocoa
Salt

Cream sugar and butter. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Bake on waffle iron. Frost with ganache.

Ganache

Alton Brown

Difficulty: Easy - Prep Time: 10 minutes - Cook Time: 5 minutes - Yield: 1½ cups

3 tablespoons corn syrup
6 oz. heavy cream
12 oz. dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

In a small saucepan combine the corn syrup and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and add the chocolate. Stir until smooth. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract.

If you use a mix I suggest you add some extra butter or shortening/oil to the mix.

Belgian waffles take a bit more in my experience.

Thanks for the compliments on the recipe everyone! We made them...

...Saturday, kind of as a last hurrah for the fresh strawberry season.

Waffles, vanilla whipped cream, sliced fresh strawberries dusted with sugar and left to "sweat", sliced ripe bananas and milk chocolate chips on top.

Kids (and DW) love it.

I like 'em with butter and maple syrup.

I have some ideas - tell me if you think they would work>>

I'm thinking pumpkin spice waffles with cinnamon ice cream,
Maybe banana nut waffles w. dulce de leche- chive waffles w/ creamy chicken and mushroons.....Creamed chipped beef on savory waffles....

Do you think bread or muffin recipes would neccessarily work without changes for a Belgian Waffler???

My wife and kids love anything pumpkin/chocolate chip. My 12-year-old likes...

...a pumpkin chocolate chip bundt cake for his birthday.

My wife got hooked on the muffins from a little sandwich place here in Phoenix many years ago. We make our own now.

I think the combo is just OK, nothing I get too excited over. But, hey, it's not all about me, is it?
