Just ordered Nordicware Nonstick Universal Double Boiler - have a look........

I just use a stainless pan/bowl that has a lip that holds it--or a bowl that sits in the top

of a pan.

 
Why the ridges? Will that make it difficult to scrap out the ingredient you are working with?

It is great that it is universal and fits up to 3 qt pots. If you use a double boiler a lot, it will come in handy. Looks well made to. By the way, it is 12.99 on Amazon, in case anyone is thinking of getting one.

 
What a beauty that is! Well maintained Rever Ware is so pretty! I made a huge mistake

years ago. I wanted the big Rever Ware stock pot and since I could not afford it at that time, I asked my dear friend and neighbor to pay half and we would share it. She agreed and for years we shared it for making stocks, and large amounts of soup. When we moved across town, that ended that arrangement and she ended up with the pot.
