Just saying hello, and and explanation for silence ...

Darling pals, I do look in and read now and then! I love you all. It's just been hectic since beginning February, with house renovations and additions, then having to clean, furnish and generally get settled in (still not finished by a long shot).

Time for browsing here has been short. I have a deadline for a book, and I swear this is the last one. There's no real money in writing in South Africa, just pocket money, for so much hard work and sitting on my spreading backside ...

I do hope to get back to leisurely reading here and elsewhere, and posting, and trying recipes.

Meanwhile, hugs to all!!!!!!!!

Zuri....Yaaa! when the book is out please let us know the title...If it's as enjoyable as the last

one, it'll be on my bookshelf for sure!

Stephanie, she has written "The Saffron Pear Tree" in English and it's a wonderful book. Unfortunat

Okay, that didn't work well....Unfortunately it's not available stateside, to my knowledge. My dh ordered it from South Africa. It is well worth the time to track it down. Here is a site about the book

Gee, I am surprised!

Hello and hugs!! I am absolutely amazed that an American bookseller has my book. Please cry with me, Argentina, that for every book sold (and NOT overseas sales which I know nothing about) my royalties came to less than $1 per book sold!!!

NEVER try to write to make money writing!

One book made me nice pocket money: an Afrikaans book which was a set book/a prescribed book (I don't know what you call it in the USA) in Western Cape schools. That means schools bought the book, and thank heavens, that made me some money.

But the ordinary readers' market?? Forget it!

I'll let you know about this new one, for which I have not even signed the contract yet although I have it here, as I am so way behind ...

I miss you all!! Meanwhile we have also been through purgatory by renovating and adding on to the house!!

I just wish my peaceful days and nights back, when I could sit here and relax and read your recipes!! (((((hugs!)))))

Wow, does this mean you don't have to pay the shipping from SA? It was almost exactly a year ago

that I got it, but it came directly from Select Books in Capetown through Abe Books.

Now that screw-up managed to post twice! The book is well worth the wait, so nice it is now

available at a reasonable shipping rate.
