KA spatula paddle...before I open the box, do we know of any problems with this gizmo?

It always seemed like such a good idea but since it appeared years ago, I haven't heard anything of it.

It's great for everything but VERY heavy batters (like bread dough). I cracked mine once but the

company very kindly replaced it at no charge. Since then, if I'm working anything particularly sturdy, I used the hard paddle that comes with the KA. Otherwise, no problemo.

Is this an actual KA made product or someone else's product for KA?

I ask because I bought the sideswipe blade and like it. But in reading the King Arthur blogs, someone asked why they don't sell the wiper baldes anymore. They said that KA said it's not an authorized product and void the warrenty. So, just wondering if KA makes an "Authorized" version...

By the way I like my wiper blade.

I knew I didn't have the old version but had no idea how many variations existed. This one is a

tilt-head flex edge beater made (or distributed) by KA. Given what Marilyn posted, that sure looks as though it would be the best design. However, it's not in my cupboard.

Steve, I'm guessing you have this one and it seems that whatever the design, it works better than no spatula.

Thank you all. I'll be ripping open the packaging tomorrow. And I sure didn't pay $40 for it.
