Marriage not essential.

My lime tree is a bit of a tart.

Karen, is it you who has a tree? I wish mine would produce limes but there is an extreme shortage of mates around here.

(hey not only for trees)

Oh I started from seeds only, 3 times. It took me a while to learn how they wanted to grow as

babies. And I actually carried this tyke with me across this big country to a new climate.

A year later, it almost died of bugs but it is surviving without drastic intervention.

Now what I need is a sexy counterpart. (For the tree.)

From your link....Quote::::: genetically different plants are needed for the plant to set fruit and thus our plant, which is derived from a single cutting, will not produce fruit

So when you get your guy up and running, mine will be ready.

And if mine were already fruiting, I could cultivate a plant for you. sooorrrreee

Sandy, you can get kaffir lime trees from Crowleys Nursery in Sarasota.

They also are at a lot of events around west Florida. They are high quality and if you get a chance to go to their nursery you'll be amazed at all they have. Here is a link to their schedule.

We have been to the Greenthumb Festival in St. Petersburg which is excellent.

Tropiflora is also worth going to early next month as is the Manatee Rare Fruit Sale in Palmetto.

The Sarasota Rare Fruit Tree Sale is the end of September.

Great links Michael. Thank you! I've been here for over two and a half years

and never heard of Palma Sola Botanical Park which is very near to me.

I have room in my screened-in patio and really should get a kaffir lime tree!

I'll keep you posted Marg. I can see that there's a lot of research involved that

that I'll need to do.

I'll keep you informed when I get sexy counterparts (one for your tree, and one for me...) smileys/wink.gif
