Karen NoCa, for some reason I cannot reply to the string above on Giada's knife...

...so I'll reply here.

I don't own one of those knives. I just searched "Giada's knife" and found the pic.

As for the price, it is low, but I have to say this: I followed CI's recommendation and looked at the Victorinox knife they use in their test kitchens. It is a fantastic traditional chef's knife and it set me back a whole $28. I love it and I loved the price. My point is, there are some bargains out there.

I've reopened that thread

not sure why, but one of the moderators closed it.

YIKES! I am hoping it was not me. I was responding to your post yesterday and we lost internet

connection in the midst of typing my post. My comment was that I have seen her use the knife, and while impressive, it really looked scary! (ie; could take off a finger!)

If I was the one that closed the post, I really am sorry. I was in the middle of typing when I lost all power

I opened it just fine a few minutes ago. It is a Target knife as stated

will check it out. I think the design is beautiful, but I noticed when she put it town on the side of her cutting board, it had a tinny sound. Could be a distortion, I suppose. How good can an $18.00 knife be. Worth trying, even if just having it to slice onions, it is beautiful.

Sorry, a wacky trackpad and lack of sleep caused me to hit the "Close Thread" button last night! smileys/frown.gif
