run for the cookie swap this coming weekend and they'll work out fine.

The size, holiday look and taste are all there. I didn't have mini-chips so I buzzed some 60% chips. That make the overall cookie a lot less sweet and a bit more...adult-ish. Since this will be going to families with kids, I'm going to use the semi-sweet, which is probably around 45%.

I tested the mini-pareils and while the color is great, I didn't quite like those micro-ball bearings getting stuck in my teeth, so I'll be using the large sanding sugar instead.

I used my "purple" scoop which is equal to ~1.5 TBL of dough and only dipped one side of the rolled dough. The red/white candies are Hershey's Kisses with "candy canes" on the wrapper. They are pepper-minty and had an additional crunch, not smooth like normal kisses.

Oh God...I HOPE Hershey deliberately added something crunchy and it wasn't....something else.

Thanks for the review, I am making these this weekend. Their was an error in the recipe

calling the candy Hershey's Hugs which cost me a lot of time and effort. I was going from store to store looking for Hugs only to find out is was the Kisses I was after. If I had taken the time to really look at the Kisses package I would have seen a picture of the cookie on the back. Anyway, I have all the ingredients now, they are really pretty.
