Kind of FRC... Have hardwood floors in my kitchen. What do you use to clean? Swifter?Vacuum?

I have been using the old broom / old fashioned janitor style mop, but I find that it is not getting dry quickly enough and my friends laugh at me. What do you use on tile / hardwood floors? I would imagine the texture would be similiar. They have come up with so many new options.... Swifter / rolling vacuum cleaners with many wheels, etc... You get it.

Any thoughts?

FYI... In the spirit of full disclosure, this post is clearly my way of procrastinating cleaning my floors. : )

I have a very old Eureka Envirosteamer. It's a steam cleaner

for hard surface floors that uses a waffle cotton cover cloth. Barely leaves the floor damp. Parts where you started are dry before you finish the rest of the room. I use it on my sealed hardwoods & vinyl.

Occasionally if I want to use some detergent I use a Libman Wonder Mop, but I have small rooms.

First vacuum and then use Bona floor cleaner as directed on the bottle. This advice was

given to me by the company that installed my hardwood floors. The woman who helps with my housework uses some kind of cleaning pad that she rinses out and wrings out frequently. The floor dries quickly. I have also seen Bona kits of some kind in the grocery store and at Lowes. I guess they contain the cleaner and pads and a mop handle but I haven't investigated. Anyway, the Bona works well and my floors look fine. Hope this helps. By the way, I used to use white vinegar in water as someone else told me to do and the floor man said not to use it. Just passing on what I was told.

ecloth wet mop with plain water. I love these ecloths. I use

the all-purpose cloth for my countertops and stainless appliances and then dry them with the drying cloth. No smears. I have given these to my DILs and my sister and brother. They all love them.

I have a small steamer too. I spritz with Simple Green and then go over it with the steamer

The steamer works better without the big muddy dogs I used to have tromp through the kitchen.

Sometimes it wasn't up to seriously dirty floors.

I use a sponge mop and diluted Murphy's Oil Soap on mine, and dry them

with old towels - pushed around the floor with my feet. smileys/wink.gif

"My friends laugh at me..." Recruit said friends to come show you their methods in person. smileys/wink.gif

No more laughing!

That is too funny!

My cats hated the Roomba, and disappeared whenever it started up. I miss it - should really get another one.

In doing the research, the Mint brand floor cleaner is much quieter,

check out user reviews that compare the 2.
A lot of people switched.

Fingers crossed that our cat will be ok with it. smileys/smile.gif
