to consider it, may no longer have the option not to. Diet and exercise isn't working for me, no matter what I try.

Please PM me, email at dawndo4@graffiti.net, or post if you don't mind. She mentioned Lantus, which is supposed to be a new, safer, more convenient form, but the thought of possible "lows" scares me very much and I'm afraid with that in the back of my mind, I would exercise less. Pre-breakfast reading today? 277 (

Thanks in advance!

I'm sure you would agree that the chance of a few "lows" is better than...

...the health issues that come with uncontrolled blood sugar.

Your best chance is to become VERY proactive about your care. I believe the degree to which you educate yourself and take control of your treatment plan, is the degree to which you can expect to safely manage the disease!

Dawn, you have a clear choice to make: let fear rule your life or become your own best guide for overcoming fear and returning to health.

High blood sugar may course through my veins, but failure does not. I was born to victory, nothing else, and the only thing standing between me and the life I desire is.... me.

Attack it.

Inspiring, Michael. I probably could do more, but nothing has

really changed - same diet, same exercise, I know all the "right" things to eat and 90% of the time I do.

I suppose I should do more... I really don't want the insulin.

A big thanks to those of you who reponded in some form or another... when I posted this, I

was hoping for answers about insulin, but after reading the replies and suggestions, decided to REALLY try again - walking through the pain of my knee (and still swimming even on days when I don't feel like it) and eating like I did when I was first diagnosed.

If it still doesn't work (maybe it's harder as the disease progresses), well then I guess I'll have no other choice.

I do appreciate your concern.

Late chimer, but perhaps if you can

see a nutritionist. My DH was on the border as well, and she gave him a ton of tips for eating habits, when to eat (example, as soon as he gets up he immediately drinks a protein drink)he would have never done that on his own, or thought of it! Food combinations etc. He did lose enough weight to where it is diet controlled (has the occasional pass out smileys/frown.gif but for the most part, it's controlled. Good luck!

Good idea - I went once, a few years ago, and I might learn more if I go again. Dpes he really

pass out, as in faint? From highs?! Oh no.
