Kraft take-over of Cadbury

Intersting.

I think that the Cadbury bars made in this country are not nearly as good as what you can get in England. They seem more grainy, somehow.

Same thing with other chocolate - The Lindt bars I tried in Switzerland were far superior to those

in the U.S.

Well, they *say* they are doing it because American tastes differ

but everyone seems to prefer the chocolate from abroad, so I find that strange. I'm sure it's cost cutting.

We were talking about chocolate at a Girl Scout meeting, and my daughter said something about Hersheys not really being chocolate. One of the girls was astonished - if Hersheys isn't chocolate, then nothing is chocolate, she protested. It turned out that the poor deprived baby had never tasted anything except Hersheys! We gave her some European chocolate (may have been Cadbury's, I can't remember), and she was absolutely deprived of speech for a while - could not believe how delicious it was!

I fear for Cadbury's under Kraft.

That's great! You've changed that girl's life forever - maybe she's a budding chocoholic!

I felt the need for a Crunchie bar after this discussion, so while

ostensibly buying vegetables for dinner, I wandered past the 'imported' aisle in Publix and found not a single Crunchie! Then I looked again - there wasn't a single bar of Cadbury's anywhere?

A Portent of Doom!

In desperation I bought Cadbury's drinking chocolate (while heroically avoiding the Cadbury's Chocolate digestives).

I fear for it too. Last week I got some Cadbury's Whole Nut from South Africa -- YUMMMMMM!

Guess I'll have to stock up and freeze.
