I did Lots of things with my Bumper-BUMPER crop of kumquats this year: (some old some new)

Kumquat salad dressing,

Kumquats IN salad

Kumquat preserved Moroccan style

Kumquat-cello

Kumquat Pudding Cake Souffles

Kumquat Marmalade

Mailed off some to East Coasters

BTW: I was lurking through old posts and found your treatise on Cakeballs

Split a gut laughing. I had your caramel making adventures on my desktop for the longest time. #14981

Kumquatcello

In a quart jar put 1 cup sugar, fill jar with kumquat halves (I use just the peels and cram in as many as I can) , fill the rest with inexpensive vodka. Lid it, flip several times over the next several days to dissolve the sugar. Store & age in a dark place.
Hard Part:
Wait a few months...

Use as any orange-flavored liqueur. This is great in blackberry jam. I used 1/2 cup in 1 batch jam (7-8 half-pint jars). Also good in Cosmos.

Freezing Kumquat puree:

To one cup seeded and quarter kumquats and 1/2 water, puree the Be-J out of it and freeze flat in Ziploc sandwich bags. Can use for the dressing later or other recipes where you are using/needing the puree.

Well, thank you dear. And which caramel would that be? Chocolate caramel or Dic's Never Fail?

Because both were fiascos.

At least no one can say I'm not consistent.
