Dolly comes to the stage fully prepared to step into the vacated role of TFT Donation Inspiration after a "lack of air conditioning" situation this weekend sent our star to the garbage can. You know what they say in the business: "break a leg!"
(psst! original TFT star! What...you couldn't just break some icing like a normal GBH? You had to collapse both walls just because there was "too much humidity!" oh. boo-hoo, you whiney unpredictable diva!)
Dolly has been seen preforming summer stock in the Catskills, bussing tables at Sardi's, and awaiting her big chance in the Arts & Crafts aisle at Walmart. The foam-core model of the original TFT star was dug out of the recycling bin, pasted over with brown craft paper and covered with Royal Icing to within an inch of her life.
During emergency surgery to resurrect The Inspiration, LED wires embedded in the rock-hard Royal icing were unintentionally CUT when an over-zealous baker sliced away the crumbling mess that was our former beloved TFT, may it rest in peace (in the garbage can, where GBH dilettantes end up.)
Seeing one of the parallel wires dangle from the roof eve, The Baker turned on the battery pack to confirm the lights were dead, then carefully slit the rubber coating with the skill of a second-rate butcher, stripped the protective sleeving away and--taking both ends of the bare copper wire--twisted the "live" wires together.
As the lights flashed to life, she briefly glimpsed how God felt the day He created fireflies.
